Where to Route Jail and Record Questions
For a person who may be held locally after a Carbon County arrest, start with the Carbon County Jail and Sheriff's Office. The jail and sheriff business office share the same address in Price, but their phone lines and hours differ.

The sheriff business office is open Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5pm and is closed Friday through Sunday and holidays. The jail is open 24 hours, and posted visitor hours are 6am to 9pm. For non-emergency dispatch or to request a deputy, use (435) 637-0890; emergencies go to 911.
County public-records requests use Utah GRAMA, the Government Records Access and Management Act in Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2. Carbon County's research materials route ordinary county GRAMA requests through the County Clerk because the Clerk is the appointed records officer. Sheriff's records such as police reports, photos, dashcam or video, and booking photos require a GRAMA request through the Sheriff's Office or Clerk route.
